Honorary Membership in Alpha Psi Omega (ΑΨΩ) / Delta Psi Omega (ΔΨΩ) is a meaningful way to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to theatre at your institution or in your community. This distinction may be conferred upon faculty members, administrators, or local theatre artists and supporters whose service and dedication have significantly enriched the theatrical experience of your chapter and its members.
While most members of APO and DPO are inducted through regular student eligibility pathways, Honorary Membership provides an opportunity to celebrate those whose influence extends beyond the stage and classroom. Honorary members are often mentors, advocates, or creative leaders whose impact deserves formal acknowledgment.
Honorary Membership must be approved by the National Office before induction.
The nomination form should be submitted by a chapter advisor or student officer.
Students who do not meet the traditional membership criteria are rarely granted honorary status and should not be nominated under this category except in truly exceptional cases.
