Role of the Faculty Sponsor
The Faculty Sponsor is essential to maintaining an active and purposeful chapter. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the chapter promotes theatre on campus.
- Encouraging new talent and recognizing contributions to the theatre program.
- Maintaining accurate chapter records, including:
- Membership records.
- National constitution and other official documents.
- Reporting new inductees to the National Office.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Frequency of Induction: Ideally, chapters should hold inductions at least once per year. Inductions may occur as often as needed to meet chapter goals.
- Inactive Status: Chapters that fail to report new inductees or pay national dues for two consecutive years will be placed on inactive status.
- Supplies: Faculty Sponsors may order additional pins, membership scrolls, certificates, and other materials through the National Office.
Chapter Officers
To ensure smooth operation, each chapter must have the following officers:
- President – Oversees chapter activities, meetings, and initiatives.
- Vice President – Assists the President and ensures continuity in leadership.
- Business Officer – Manages chapter finances, dues, and communication with the National Office.
