Alpha Psi Omega (ΑΨΩ) is the largest national honor society for collegiate theatre participants, with over 600 active chapters across the United States. Founded in the early 20th century in response to the growing interest in dramatic arts at colleges and universities, its mission is to encourage and recognize excellence in theatrical production throughout a student’s academic journey.
Membership is open to students—primarily undergraduates—actively involved in theatre programs at four-year colleges and universities with established theatre departments or clubs dedicated to producing plays.
Delta Psi Omega (ΔΨΩ), founded in 1929, serves as the official junior-college division of Alpha Psi Omega. While both societies share the same National Officers, they have distinct coats of arms and induction ceremonies, celebrating their unique identities within the larger network of theatrical achievement.
