The only negative memory which I have regarding this noble institution is that on the day of my initiation every member was taken to the home of a certain member (no names please!) who had volunteered to have a small party for all concerned. As we at our appetizers, one of the members asked when the certificates and rings denoting membership would be handed out. "Oh, their right here," she said as she pointed to the solid silver tray which the appetizers were sitting on. She continued with "I thought you would like this platter better than some old ring you'll probably lose." As you can imagine, my heart sank. After all, did she expect me to wear a platter on my hand for the rest of my life! I love this woman with all my heart but to this day, I can't think of that happy day without a shudder of unhappiness. It may seem petty to you, but I work for four years to be able to join Alpha Psi Omega and I thought a small symbol that recognized my achievements wasn't to much to ask.
Thank you for listening and I wish each and every member (and soon to be member) all good fortune in their choosen theatrical career.
