Hi all! This part of the board seems to be a bit dusty, but I figured I'd try my luck since we're having a spot of trouble.
I'm the Vice President of what is, I'm quickly learning, an incredibly unorganized Cast. We're coming up on our first Pledge period since I've been in office, and are rapidly running into a number of stumbling blocks that have arisen from past stupidity and lack of diligent organization. (For example, we apparently either don't have Local Bylaws, or just don't FOLLOW them, and no one even knows what the National Bylaws consist of... it's been a fun week)
My question (of the moment), though, is the subject of Major. I've been digging for a while and haven't had much luck... but do the National Cast requirements say anything about whether a pledge must be a current major within the theatre department, or is this something to be determined by Local Bylaws? We have a pledge who has copious amounts of onstage experience, accumulating FAR more than enough points to be considered, and has been involved in our mainstage productions... but is not a theatre major. Can he be considered a full member, do we need to put him as an honorary member, or is he not eligible at all?
Thanks in advance for any insight!
