Erin Karson Guest	famous apo members? 02/04/04 at 19:23:24 hello everybody! i am the secretary for Eastern Illinois, Alpha alpha zeta chapter of APO. we are currently putting together a fun newsletter and i was wondering if any of you knew of any famous persons that have been members. famous may include all people whether high celebrity or non-theatre persons. please help me!!! thanks erin

Reply #1 - 02/05/04 at 12:49:51 Not quite famous, but getting there - an alum of Delta Xi cast at RPI was the lighting designer for the Metropolitan Opera in NYC for many, many years. Gil Weschler retired from that position about 4 years ago now.

From another posting on this Bulletin Board, I know of about four famous Alpha Psi Omega members -

Bill Pullman (The President in Independance Day)
Dan Blocker (Hoss from Bonanza)
Don Knotts (Barney Fife from Andy Griffith, Mr. Furley from Three's Company)
Robert Heyes (Epstien from Welcome Back Kotter)

Hey, I was bored and effectively NOT studying for my huge philosophy exam tomorrow. Anyway, one of our members set up a yahoo group for our cast and i felt like finding some famous members to add to the database there. After doing a yahoo search, these were the people i could find:

Alan Charles Beckwith (General Hospital)
Bill Pullman (Independence Day, Newsies, Spaceballs)
Burt Mustin (Miracle on 34th St, All in the Family, Petticoat Junction, Mame, Leave it to Beaver)
Dan Blocker (Bonanza)
Don Knotts (Incredible Mr. Limpet, Pleasantville, Andy Griffith, Three's Company)
Lillian Gish (Follow Me Boys and a number of Silent Movies plus Broadway revivals of Uncle Vanya)
Robert Hegyes (Welcome Back Kotter)
Robert Taylor (Ivanhoe)

I'm sure there's more as well, but goodness knows how anyone would ever find out!
