The Coat of Arms
06/11/02 at 00:16:45

Greetings again from the Zeta Epsilon cast at Delta State University.  I thought I'd pose another question on this bulletin board.  I'd love to hear stuff about our coat of arms.  I'm a member of another fraternity (Phi Mu Alpha) and there is much symbolism behind it's crest.  I was wondering if Alpha Psi Omega's had any cool symbolism behind it.  If info you have is too secret to share on the board, feel free to email me.

Heya, I'm from the Iota Omega Cast of Davis & Elkins College.  We're slowly getting updated with stuff at nationals.  As far as the crest, all I have are really small pictures of it.  Is there any way that I can see a picture of it larger in all its glory.  If you can't post it then E-mail it to me and I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks a bunch!  Cristine Patrick

Here's a question:

I looked at an old copy of Playbill that I found in our department closet and it showed a copy of the Delta Psi Omega magazine, but the Coat-of-Arms was much different looking from Alpha Psi's.  Is it still different?

Yes, there a different coat of arms for Alpha Psi and Delta Psi.
The idea was to have two fraternities under a single roof  - because recognition on 4-year campuses was often tied to recruiting only on four year schools, a point that goes a long way back in fraternity history.

But we wanted to have an honor society availbale at every level of educational theatre  -so we formed a second one, specifically for 2 year schools:  different pin, different coat of arms, different induction ceremony, and, originally, a seperate issue of the Playbill every year.  But:  the same national convention, with Delta Psi's delegates having equal voice and vote along with the Alpha Psi ones.

If anyone has a downloadable coat of arms/insignia for Delta PSi Omega, could you please email me a copy. I tried scanning the ones we have and they do not come out clear. Thanks, Nick.... email dfwguy1979@yahoo.com
