I think it's amazing that you in the Omega Xi cast are so dedicated to doing things. I find it difficult to motivate my fellow cast members (Beta Iota at Valparaiso University) because everyone "is so busy." While we are a small cast, I feel that sometimes they are in it for the honor and nothing else. We have only a couple hundred dollars in our account, and we always propose fundraisers, but no one is willing to follow through. We have a formal at Christmas that brings in about $500 but that's basically it. We try undergrounds, but again, "no one has time." Does anyone have any suggestions to motivate these people? Please?
Thanks!

Iota Tau from Longwood....we have the same problem. People talk big but don't follow through. The one thing that always happens is Ball which also brings in about 500 for us which goes to a scholarship to the department.
We're getting better though.
On Oktoberfest and Spring Weekend with a "Alpha-sassinations" which takes barely any preparation but is a LOT of fun. We charge about $2 per assasination and people pay for us to take two waterballoons and go "assasinate" their friends. Sometimes all we have to do is hand them the waterballoons and they'll do the assasination for us

We've also started weekly workshops (Tuesdays at 3:30) and made it part of pledge requirements to attend one workshop outside their strength areas and assist with one workshop that is in their strength areas.
We don't have the greatest turnout but at least we're doing something.
We also just put on an Improv Night which was a pretty decent success. Outside of reserving the space and advertizing, it takes about 15 minutes to put together but it's fun, easy, you get audience participation, etc. And if it gets done in a cafe or someplace that people are walking by, they stop to see what's going on. This is important for us because there is a VERY high rate of apathy

no students go to ANYTHING.
We also set up a 'campus-wide tag' during exam week last year, and this year I'm pushing for a 'campus-wide pillowfight'

It's mostly theatre people that show up so campus-wide is kind of a stretch but anyone is invited.
We also put together cast parties for every show and on opening night we put up a congrats poster to cast and crew.
Anyone else, share what your cast does!! I'm really curious to get new ideas for things we can do.
